Exploring light exposure of hospital nurses working rapidly rotating shifts in relation to sleepiness and sleep

چکیده
Abstract Nightshift work can negatively impact sleep, performance, and health. Careful manipulation of light exposure patterns help reduce these negative effects but is challenging in conditions rapidly rotating shiftwork due to individual differences. As chronotype related tolerance, we explored sleepiness, during the first day nightshift between earlier later chronotypes, based on data from an observational field study among hospital nurses. Due limited sample size, only descriptive analyses visual inspection were conducted. In line with findings lower chronotypes (N=6) seemed be sleepier sleep less than types (N=7). Differences also observed patterns, revealing potential for interventions, suggesting a contribution tolerance. For future intervention studies aiming identify strategy, our highlight importance investigating relative circadian phase.
